MOGADISHU (Somaliguardian) – Death toll from clashes in the town of Lasanod has risen as prospects of dialogue and ceasefire continue to recede.
A local clan leader leading forces fighting Somaliland troops said 30 of their fighters were killed in the clashes on Saturday, with more than 60 injured.
Both sides claimed capturing prisoners as the battles raged over the last two days but there has been no independent confirmation of the assertions.
